RDM explained – How to Validate Data?

As part of good scientific practice, research data should be stored for up to 10 years. In addition, more and more funding agencies expect information on where the collected data is stored. However, it is neither technically nor economically possible to store all data collected during a research project. Accordingly, it is necessary to carry out a data evaluation after a project has been completed. This forms the basis for deciding which data should or must be archived. Our new blog post gives a first insight into what should be considered when validating data.

NFDI in the DFG Funding Atlas
In this article, we would like to inform you about the recently published Funding Atlas of the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the key figures on publicly funded research in Germany. Published only every three years, this report is considered and serves as a “long-term observation of the German research landscape.” In this latest edition, the most recent decisions in the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) program also receive accentuated consideration, and with it the role of RWTH Aachen University.
ELN – Electronic Lab Notebooks – Information & More
Some time ago, in the blog post „Nutzen Sie schon ein elektronisches Laborbuch?” (engl.: Do you already use an electronic lab notebook?) we reported on electronic lab notebooks and introduced you to the topic. Among other things, that post linked to an overview of the products available at the time. What has happened since then? Is there any news around ELNs for researchers and where can they get them? All of this will be covered in this blog post. You can also expect a listing of our previous posts on ELNs.
