H5P becomes part of the Moodle core

November 23rd, 2020 | by

H5P is a plugin for existing learning platforms, such as RWTHmoodle, that allows users to create interactive content for their learning spaces, including interactive videos, presentations, games, quizzes and more. Since Moodle version 3.9 H5P is now part of the Moodle core and also part of RWTHmoodle.

Unlike before, H5P elements are now created centrally in a course room related content store and from there linked or copied to the desired location in the course room. Since the content store is a course room related repository, all content stored here is only available in the context of this course room. If you would like to try H5P, please visit IT Center Help for detailed instructions on how to create the content store and how to add interactive content to the course room.

Also new is a trial history for H5P elements with integrated quiz questions or other actions that can be rated, as well as expanded rating options. Multiple attempts can now be saved and viewed later via an attempt history. The trial history can be viewed by managers (all trials) and students (own trials only). It can be accessed via the H5P activity or the assessments. IT Center Help also provides detailed instructions for curious users.
