IT systems have become an integral part of our everyday lives. They simplify work processes, enable communication, and drive digital innovation. And yet, many IT projects fail not because of technical hurdles, but because they are not accepted by users. This is precisely where acceptance research comes in.

Modern systems such as artificial intelligence, automation, and cloud solutions can be as powerful as they like, but if they seem complicated in everyday use or cause uncertainty, they will remain unused. Acceptance research therefore focuses on people: it examines how technologies are perceived, which functions are helpful, and what concerns or expectations exist. Methods such as surveys, interviews, and tests provide valuable insights for further developing user-friendly systems, building trust, and successfully and sustainably introducing innovations into everyday (working) life.

Practical Example: Chatbot Ritchy

A current project by the IT Center demonstrates how this works. The chatbot Ritchy is currently being tested for acceptance. Feedback on functions, trust, comprehensibility, and usefulness is directly incorporated into further development so that Ritchy can be optimally tailored to the needs of users.

Your Opinion Matters!

You can actively help shape Ritchy: Until January 29, 2026, you have the opportunity to contribute your ideas and wishes in the survey and thus directly influence the development of the chatbot.
