RWTH-Rektor Professor Ulrich Rüdiger bittet zum Schutz der Hochschulangehörigen und ihrer Familien um unverzügliche Umsetzung folgender Regelungen: Beschäftigte haben im Homeoffice zu arbeiten, wann immer dies möglich ist. Für Beschäftigte mit Wohnort im Kreis Heinsberg gilt ab sofort und zunächst bis zum 03. April 2020 ein angeordnetes Homeoffice. Diese drastische Maßnahme wurde aufgrund der Einschätzung des Robert-Koch-Instituts und in Absprache mit den Personalräten getroffen. Wenn für Beschäftigte keine sinnvollen Tätigkeiten in Homeoffice gefunden werden können, werden sie unter Fortzahlung der Vergütung freigestellt.
