Support and Advice on Career and Job Entry Questions Continues Online

July 22nd, 2020 | by

With their career@home series, the RWTH Career Center continues to supports students, even during the coronavirus situation. The Career Center Team has already offered more than 80 online workshops this summer semester. From one-day seminars on career planning or networking to company presentations with Q&A sessions and job application training, all the offerings that are usually held in person have now been turned into virutal events. Due to the great response, the range of services is being continuously expanded. In August, for example, workshops on personality and career as well as on the application process will be offered.

“The feedback continues to be very positive,” says Anja Robert, who coordinates the Career Center. The virtual offers have even reached more participants than in usual semesters. The company presentations were also converted into an online format. Almost 50 companies have showcased themselves to the students despite the coronavirus crisis. “RWTH students are still in high demand in industry. In some sectors it will certainly be a bit more difficult, but in principle, the companies are still looking for good young professionals,” explains Anja Robert.

Due to the high demand, the Career Center is starting the lecture-free period with further virtual offers and the courses will also be offered online in the winter semester. This means that students can continue to take advantage of personal advising on career and future issues and participate in the seminars and workshops from home via their laptop or smartphone.
