The NFDI-MatWerk consortium for materials science and engineering of the National Research Data Infrastructure – NFDI-MatWerk – is organizing a Spring School at the IT Center of RWTH Aachen from April 8 to 10, 2025. The event is being held in cooperation with renowned partners in the field of digitization, including the DKZ.2R, the Forschungszentrum Jülich and the RWTH Institutes of Metal Forming and of Physical Metallurgy and Metal Physics.
Are you interested in digitization solutions for your materials science research? Then read on. This article will tell you everything you need to know about the Spring School and how to register.
Why an NFDI-MatWerk Spring School?
In times of increasing amounts of data and complex research projects, a sound understanding of how to handle research data and the digital infrastructure behind it is crucial.
The NFDI-MatWerk Spring School offers the opportunity to acquire comprehensive knowledge about the current state of digitization processes and their background. In addition, techniques are taught for how data can be effectively organized, stored and shared. In addition, insights into real-life examples are provided.
Furthermore, participants have the opportunity to learn from experts in the field and to network with other researchers, thus promoting the exchange of ideas and experiences. Furthermore, knowledge of research data management (RDM) not only promotes one’s own research skills, but can also increase the visibility and traceability of one’s own scientific work. These aspects are becoming increasingly important in the academic world, which is why they are also increasingly promoted by funding agencies and scientific journals.
