We would like to invite you to participate in the Coscine Survey 2025. From April 28 to May 30, 2025, you will have the opportunity to share your experiences, wishes, and suggestions with us.
NFDI-MatWerk Spring School 2025: A Dynamic Exchange on Research Data Management in Aachen
From April 8 to 10, 2025, RWTH Aachen University hosted the NFDI-MatWerk Spring School, bringing together 22 enthusiastic participants from all over Germany. This diverse group included PhD students, postdocs, and researchers who work with experimental and simulation data. Over three days, they immersed themselves in intensive sessions, hands-on workshops, and lively discussions about Research Data Management (RDM) in materials science and engineering.
Digital Cleanup From an RDM Perspective
On the occasion of Digital Cleanup Day, which takes place every year on the third Saturday in March, the RDM team at RWTH Aachen University has joined forces with the Sustainability and University Governance Office of the Board of Governors office to raise awareness of sustainability in the digital age. With tips, tricks and the RDM handout (German only), digital cleanup is easier and more efficient.
RDM and Good Scientific Practice: An Inseparable Connection
Research data is the backbone of every scientific endeavor. However, the collection, documentation, and publication of research data is only useful if it adheres to the principles of Good Scientific Practice (GSP). These principles ensure scientific integrity and the quality of research. A central component of GSP is the proper handling of research data, which plays an important role in research data management (RDM).
And What Kind of RDM Personality Do You Have?

The world of research data management (RDM) is as diverse as the people who work with it every day. Every approach, every method and every strategy reflects not only the requirements of research, but also the personalities behind it. Have you ever wondered what role you play in this dynamic world? With the humorously designed RDM personality test from FDM-ndsHAW you can find out exactly that!
RDM StackExchange – For You and With You
DKZ.2R’s RDM StackExchange has been relaunched in January 2025 – for you and with you! StackExchange is a platform for the exchange of information on specific topics. These can be topics for the hobby brewer, but also for scientific contexts. The more you contribute, the more useful and sustainable the platform will be for all users.
Research Data Management Education – Optimize Your Research Data Management!
The amount of data generated is growing rapidly, and is the need to efficiently manage, share, and preserve it for the long term. Effective Research Data Management (RDM) ensures that your research results are traceable and can be used by other scientists.
RDM is an integral part of good scientific practice and can have a significant impact on the success of your projects. To support you in this important area, RWTH Aachen University offers a flexible continuing education program in RDM.
