In order not to run the risk of unintentionally plagiarising, care should be taken to cite all sources in a scientifically correct manner. But how exactly do you do that with research data? In this article, we present important principles and possibilities.

“FAIRThesis” Receives FCI Funding

The teaching project “FAIRThesis” by Prof. Sonja Herres-Pawlis (RWTH Aachen University) and Dr. Nicole Jung (KIT) receives funding from the Chemical Industry Fund (FCI). The project not only ensures a deepening in the field of Research Data Management (RDM) but also enables master and bachelor students to use the electronic laboratory journal Chemotion for research and final theses.

The findability and reusability of research data are important aspects of research data management and part of the FAIR principles (Findability and Reusability). The sustainable preparation and professional publication of research data offers various possibilities for reuse. Meta-analyses, optimization of own study designs and model calibrations are just a few examples. However, finding suitable data for reuse is increasingly becoming a challenge due to steadily growing data volumes and increasing diversification of data types and storage locations.
