These are worth venturing into on the action day for research data management (RDM). This article provides an overview of the contributions by NFDI4ING. Valuable Insights and Outlooks: Meeting of the RDM Network and CoRDI 2025

The last Meeting of the RDM Network took place on September 4, 2025. The RDM team from RWTH Aachen University, data stewards, and meeting participants shared valuable insights and exciting impressions from the Conference on Research Data Infrastructure (CoRDI). Additionally, we would like to inform you about another RDM network meeting. The “Data Stewards Practice Special” is scheduled for September 25, 2025. All RDM members are cordially invited to participate in this exchange and report on their experiences and projects.
GWK Decides to Continue Funding All Nine NFDI Consortia

On July 4, 2025, the Joint Science Conference (GWK) decided to continue funding all nine NFDI consortia from the first funding round. They will receive follow-up funding and will start the second project phase in October 2025. The federal and state governments will jointly provide around 92 million euros for this purpose until the end of 2028.
This decision is excellent news for the consortia involved and for everyone involved in research data management (RDM). The NFDI plays a central role in establishing a sustainable, interdisciplinary data infrastructure in Germany.

All good things come in three. After we already reported on the cross-site morning programme and the RWTH’s workshop offer on the RDM platform Coscine, this is the third follow-up report on the Research Data Day in NRW, which was held on November 15, 2022 under the motto “Lighthouse RDM: Orientation in the Sea of Data”.
AIMS in Coscine – New Feature Since March 22, 2022

Coscine is in constant development. As of this week, it is now possible to create individual application profiles using the integration of the application profile generator from AIMS. The new feature is primarily aimed at data stewards and people familiar with their domain-specific ontologies. What AIMS is and how the creation of application profiles in Coscine works is presented in this article.
NFDI4Ing Konferenz 2021

Am 27. und 28. September findet die diesjährige NFDI4Ing Konferenz unter dem Motto „Wie wir forschen, verändert sich. Wie es sich verändert, diskutieren und gestalten wir gemeinsam“ statt.
Die Veranstaltung soll den Stand sowie die Zukunft des Forschungsdatenmanagements innerhalb der NFDI4Ing ausleuchten. Hierzu werden vier Perspektiven vorgestellt und diskutiert:
- Best-Practice
- Forschungs-Software
- Infrastruktur
- Kooperation
Umfrage zum Relaunch der NFDI4Ing Webseite
In naher Zukunft steht die Überarbeitung und ein Relaunch der Webseite des NFDI4Ing-Konsortiums an, um sie noch besser an die Bedürfnisse ihrer Nutzergruppen anzupassen.
Daher möchte die NFDI4Ing Geschäftsstelle ein Stimmungsbild zur aktuellen Nutzung, zu den Erwartungen und Anforderungen an die Webseite, sowie einen Überblick über die aus Nutzersicht derzeit noch fehlenden Funktionen und Informationen einholen. Read the rest of this entry »

NFDI – DFG veröffentlicht Statistiken zur Förderentscheidung der ersten Ausschreibungsrunde
Am 26. Juni 2020 wurde die Förderentscheidung der ersten Ausschreibungsrunde zur Förderung von Konsortien in der Nationalen Forschungsdateninfrastruktur (NFDI) durch die Gemeinsame Wissenschaftskonferenz (GWK) getroffen und die Förderung von neun NFDI-Konsortien beschlossen. Die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) hat im Nachgang eine statistische Übersicht zu der Förderentscheidung veröffentlicht.
