Following the successful piloting in the summer semester of 2025, the development of our RWTHmoodle course templates will continue. In the winter semester of 2025/26, we will provide you with improved and expanded templates and would like to invite you to try them out in your courses.
The goal of the course templates is clear: they are designed to help you structure your learning spaces in a clear and didactically meaningful way. Everyone benefits from the design: uniformly designed learning spaces make it easier to find your way around and provide a better overview of learning objectives, tasks, and individual progress.
What to expect in the winter semester 2025/26
As usual, you can choose between two tried-and-tested course templates that focus on different teaching priorities:
- “Course room organization and structure”: This template helps to structure the course clearly and logically, provide information in a structured manner, and enable intuitive navigation.
- “Multimedia and interactive learning”: With this template, you can seamlessly integrate interactive elements and multimedia content into the course to promote student engagement.
Based on valuable feedback from lecturers who participated in the first phase of the pilot program during the 2025 summer semester, both templates were revised and expanded.
A key innovation is the integration of elements for tracking individual learning progress. For example, students can use a to-do list to check off items or a visual progress bar to see which content has already been covered in the learning space and which is still pending. This allows them to keep a better eye on their current status and tailor their learning journey more effectively.
Note: The course templates are currently only available in German.

If you are interested in using them, please contact RWTHmoodle Support, and the course templates will be activated for you.
You can find more information about the course templates in the RWTHmoodle documentation.
We are excited to hear about your experiences and look forward to a structured and interactive winter semester with you!
