With 10,700 attendees, 41 workshops, 28 tutorials, 57 research posters, and 86 Bird-of-a-Feather talks, the international conference on High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis “SC22” was a resounding success.

This year’s exhibition was held in hybrid form from November 13 – 18 in Dallas, Texas. The motto was “HPC accelerates”: Speed is the foundation of HPC, and will be at the forefront of our industry over the next year as more exascale systems come online.

As part of the “Jülich Aachen Research Alliance”, the HPC group is guest at the booth of the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC). To this end, the HPC group presents their activities in the context of the JARA Center for Simulation and Data Science (JARA CSD).
At the booth, visitors will find information about the latest developments in MPI and OpenMP, as well as about tools for correctness analysis of parallel programs and the latest activities of the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC). In addition, our colleagues will report on news in the context of NHR4CES, JARA CSD and Machine Learning + HPC.

In addition to their presence at the booth, our colleagues actively contributed to the extensive technical program of the fair:

Our colleagues can draw a very positive conclusion about the presentations, workshops and tutorials. The workshop of our colleague Fabian Orland on “A Case Study on Coupling OpenFOAM with Different Machine Learning Frameworks” was even the most visited of the fair with 150 people. On the one hand, the booth enabled us to get in contact with potential new collaborators as well as new research groups and industry partners, on the other hand, it offered a platform for exchange with longstanding research partnerships.

All in all, the participation at SC22 was a complete success.
