HPC Intro and PPCES 2023
From March 13 – March 17, 2023, we will continue the tradition and open our doors again for the Parallel Programming in Computational Engineering and Science seminar, PPCES for short, as well as the Introduction to High-Performance Computing 2023.

Just a quick blink and 2022 is already over.
Now we are standing in the middle of the first chapter of 2023.
Last year was characterized by many changes, especially based on the motto “ away from online – towards presence”.
We are looking back at the past year and take you with us.
Our Christmas Party at the First IT Center Christmas Market
All good things come in … “two”! Since our last year’s Christmas party unfortunately had to be cancelled, the already planned and thought-out celebration – our own IT Center Christmas market – was made up for and celebrated on 9 December this year. After all, postponed is not abandoned! The IT Center’s party team was full of beans and organised a wonderful party that lacked nothing. The pre-Christmas season was ushered in with the smell of mulled wine and waffles and musical support from a large part of the IT Center staff.
HPC@SC22 – On site again this year
With 10,700 attendees, 41 workshops, 28 tutorials, 57 research posters, and 86 Bird-of-a-Feather talks, the international conference on High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis “SC22” was a resounding success. Read the rest of this entry »
Company Trip 2022 – Finally In Person Again!
What was still hopeful last time became reality: After a digital company event in 2020, we were finally able to get together in person again this year. Despite the bad weather that had been announced, around 140 IT Center colleagues took part in the company trip. So much commitment was rewarded by the weather of Aachen – it improved hourly. The meeting point was at Kopernikusstraße 6 on October 21 at 9 am. The IT Center Event Management Introduces Itself!
Digital ZKI Sping Conference 2021, PPCES, CLAIX Inauguration, IT Center Info Day, IPv6 Training, Visit of the NRW Minister of Finance…. – whether training courses, conferences, information events, anniversaries or larger seminars: The event management team is the first point of contact for colleagues and guests of the IT Center, for example, when it comes to guest management, web presence, preparation and follow-up, and event implementation.
