the IT Center on September 2.

On September 4, the new MATSE trainees also enjoyed an exciting program of events, which we have summarized for you in this blog post.

Scoring Points at the MATSE Rally!

On Tuesday, September 2, the day began at 9:30 a.m. with the MATSE welcome. The trainees received their first introduction to the training program in the lecture hall.

Then, as every year, the MATSE Rally continued. The new trainees were divided into groups and had the opportunity to complete exciting tasks and puzzles at 10 different stations in the IT Center.

The rally not only allowed them to discover the IT Center’s premises, but also to make initial contacts and grow together as a team.

MATSE Services and Award Ceremony

On Thursday, September 4, the program continued with the introductory week for our MATSE freshmen. In the lecture hall of the IT Center, the prospective mathematical-technical software developers were provided with helpful information and input for a successful start to their dual MATSE training.

The team that had collected the most points during the rally was then declared the winning team. The lucky team was delighted to receive a cotton bag with a notepad and pen.

The team in second place received a key tool, and the team in third place received an ITC mug.

The teams were not only evaluated on their performance of the tasks. Points were also awarded for the “breakthrough idea.”

Barbecue Fun at the MATSE Event

A barbecue in glorious weather rounded off the freshers’ days perfectly. Over 100 guests gathered in the parking lot in front of the IT Center, which had been transformed into a cozy barbecue area.

The trainees took the opportunity to chat with each other and celebrate a successful start to their training.

Are You Interested in MATSE?

The MATSE training program lasts three years and concludes with a Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) final examination. At the same time, MATSE students study for a dual bachelor’s degree in “Applied Mathematics and Computer Science” at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences.

The training combines theoretical and practical content in mathematics, computer science, and programming. With this knowledge, MATSE graduates can work in areas such as web development, parallel programming, simulation of technical processes, or database development—they are true IT experts!
