The 2026/2027 winter semester is just around the corner, and for all instructors and learning space managers, this means that new RWTHmoodle learning spaces need to be created. Once again this semester, we are looking for testers for plugins in the pilot phase.
In addition to the thoroughly revised course templates, the Sharing Cart and Learning Map plugins are once again available for testing.
Revised Course Templates
Based on feedback from the previous pilot phase, the RWTHmoodle team has thoroughly revised the templates. Course templates help you design your RWTHmoodle learning spaces in a structured and pedagogically sound manner.
A new feature is the distinction between a Basic Course Template and the Advanced Course Template. The Basic Course Template provides a foundational structure with customizable template modules. The Advanced Course Template additionally includes preconfigured Moodle activities that you can adopt directly and customize to your needs.
In addition, course structures have been streamlined, course navigation and visual design have been optimized, and pedagogical support has been simplified.
Additional Plugins
In addition to the revised course templates, the pilot phases for the Sharing Cart and Learning Map plugins from the previous semester are continuing.
The Sharing Cart plugin allows activities, materials, and entire course sections to be easily transferred between RWTHmoodle learning spaces. The Sharing Cart thus offers a time-saving alternative to the conventional course import.
On the Learning Map, learning paths in RWTHmoodle are displayed graphically. Moodle activities are linked together as stations, making the order of completion, learning progress, and branching learning paths visible.
Participation in the Pilot Phase
You can test one or more of the plugins in one or more courses. To do so, please contact RWTHmoodle Support at the IT Service Desk. Please be sure to review the terms and conditions for participation in the pilot phase.
