All good things come in three. After we already reported on the cross-site morning programme and the RWTH’s workshop offer on the RDM platform Coscine, this is the third follow-up report on the Research Data Day in NRW, which was held on November 15, 2022 under the motto “Lighthouse RDM: Orientation in the Sea of Data”.

We continue with the follow-up report on the afternoon program of the Research Data Day 2022 held at the RWTH Aachen University. Just as last year, researchers from all over North Rhine-Westphalia were allowed to get a taste of the Coscine workshop and ask their questions about the platform for research data management. “FAIRThesis” Receives FCI Funding

The teaching project “FAIRThesis” by Prof. Sonja Herres-Pawlis (RWTH Aachen University) and Dr. Nicole Jung (KIT) receives funding from the Chemical Industry Fund (FCI). The project not only ensures a deepening in the field of Research Data Management (RDM) but also enables master and bachelor students to use the electronic laboratory journal Chemotion for research and final theses.

Data literacy describes the planned and competent handling of data. It is a key competency for effective Research Data Management (RDM).
“A high level of data literacy is more important than ever against the background of large, heterogeneous data volumes and demanding user programs,”
says NFDI Director Prof Dr York Sure Vetter [1]. For this reason, the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) e.V. association is striving to increase data literacy in science and has launched the Data Literacy in NFDI project for this purpose. Lighthouse RDM: Orientation in the data sea

On November 15, 2022 the Research Data Day in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) will be held for the second time. This time, the motto of the event is “Lighthouse RDM: Orientation in the data sea“.
On this day, events on research data management (RDM) will be held throughout NRW and various universities will present their RDM offerings. The complete programme can be found on the website of the State Initiative for Research Data Management – fdm.nrw.
Follow-up Report on the Open Meeting of the RDM Network on September 14, 2022

The wait has come to an end and the monthly RDM network meeting is back! After the summer break, data stewards, RDM managers and RDM interested parties from RWTH Aachen University came together again online via Zoom on September 14, 2022. This time, the participants learned about the RDM platform Coscine developed at RWTH and its functions.
