In December last year, we drew your attention to the RDM Toolbox 2024 with a Call for Participation. This took place from March 18 to 20, 2024 in the rooms of the IT Center of RWTH Aachen University in Kopernikusstraße.

On March 13, 2024, the open meeting of the RDM network of RWTH Aachen University for data stewards, RDM managers and those interested in RDM took place again. The topic of the digital meeting was “open science” and was presented by Monica Gonzalez-Marquez – open science Manager at Forschungszentrum Jülich.

The registration deadline for this year’s FDM-Werkstatt 2024, which will take place from March 18 to 20, 2024 at the IT Center of RWTH Aachen University, will soon end. Research without digital data has long since become unthinkable. Many different tools and programs are sometimes used to collect, process and organize data. The programs differ not only due to different subject areas and data types, but also with regard to the respective phase within the research data life cycle: starting with data collection, through its cleansing and analytical processing, to the publication-ready output of the data including documentation.

Last Friday, January 26, 2024, the Rectorate of RWTH Aachen University hosted the annual “RWTHtransparent” event. Armin Maiwald from the show “Sendung mit der Maus” opened the event, which was aimed at guests from business, politics and civil society as well as RWTH employees, to report on current developments and successes at RWTH in 2023. Following the ceremony and the various award ceremonies, around 600 invited guests had the opportunity to take a closer look at the exhibition on research and teaching at the university and get to know various services.

In March of this year, we informed you in our article that RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZ Jülich) were involved in the conception phase of the Rhine-Ruhr Center for Scientific Data Literacy (DKZ.2R). Today we would like to inform you that the conception phase has been completed and the DKZ.2R has been launched.
