New app, new welcome!

We plan the relaunch of the RWTHApp for mid 2022. To get your feedback during the development, we will launch an alpha test at the end of November 2021! If you use Android or iOS, you can test the new RWTHApp before anyone else for three weeks – from November 22 to December 12, 2021.
All you have to do is send us an email to rwthapp-feedback@itc.rwth-aachen.de by November 14, 2021. Important: Tell us in the email, which operating system you use (Android or iOS) and the email address with which you are logged into the Google Play Store or App Store. Only then, we can add you as a test user in the respective stores. After the registration deadline, we will send you an email with all further information, instructions, and guides. We are looking for 200 test persons for this test phase.
Time for a relaunch
For eight years now, the RWTHapp has been offering students, employees and visitors of the RWTH specially designed functions to make everyday life at the university easier.
Viewing new learning materials quickly while on the go, finding free study rooms at the university or looking up an appointment for university sports – the useful all-rounder RWTHapp has been offering us all this and much more since November 2013.
Since then, the app has grown and has been continuously expanded and optimized with new features. With the relaunch of the new RWTHapp, it will be even better! Because in the middle of next year, it will contain new functions, features, and provide even more targeted support for everyday life at the university. Besides, eight years of RWTHapp is a really long time. Technically and in terms of design, we have had to adapt a lot, modernize; tinker, test, and now we will soon be launching an app that really places great emphasis on simple usability and intuitive use. Current needs, habits and conventions of our users were and are constant factors in the development of the new app.

How you like it
Which additional functions and features belong in a new and improved RWTHapp? Which features are fine as they are and where are usability weaknesses? What do you miss? What would you like to see?
The RWTHapp team was able to answer these and other questions by looking at the experiences of the past years and your feedback in the IT Center satisfaction surveys. The team gave a lot of thought to the implementation and practicability of your wishes and comments. For example, it was decided that the new RWTHApp definitely needs a dark mode and the Mensa food needs a good filtration – you can be really excited. Moreover, as mentioned before, if you don’t want to wait until the relaunch, it’s best to register as a test person right away.
