In order to organize your studies at RWTH Aachen University and to access the IT services of the university, you need an RWTH account. This account will be issued to you via the so-called ConnectMe coupon procedure. This procedure may vary slightly depending on whether you are enrolling at RWTH for the first time or have been enrolled at the university before.
I am studying at RWTH for the first time
As a first-time student, you will receive a personal ConnectMe coupon in the e-mail “Willkommen an der RWTH – Welcome to RWTH Aachen University” approximately 24 hours after your confirmed enrollment. Please redeem this coupon as described in our instructions. Approximately 24 hours after redeeming the coupon, you can log in to the IT Services of RWTH Aachen University with your RWTH username.
Caution! Due to maintenance work, no ConnectMe coupons will be sent out between March 31, 2022 and April 04, 2022. In addition, no coupons can be redeemed during this period. Please make sure to redeem your coupon before March 31, 2022 so that you can access your RWTH account in time for the start of the semester.
I have already studied at the RWTH
As a re-enrollee you do not need a new ConnectMe coupon. Your former RWTH account will again be assigned the status “RWTH student” and you can log in to the university’s services again with your former access data approximately 24 hours after your confirmed enrollment. If you have forgotten your login data, you can request them via the PasswordReset application to your contact e-mail address.
What happens after the activation or reactivation?
After you have activated or reactivated your RWTH account and waited 24 hours, you can log in to RWTHonline with your access data via the button “Zur Anmeldung”. Instructions and guides on how to organize your studies with RWTHonline can be found in the RWTHonline document portal (access only from the RWTH network or via VPN).
In case of questions, technical problems or problems with the registration of courses, you can reach the responsible contact person via the RWTHonline Support Form.
Where can I find the course information and learning materials?
After you have found your way around RWTHonline and organized your studies, you are wondering how exactly you can access the current course information and learning materials. In this case the keyword is “RWTHmoodle“. RWTHmoodle is the central, web-based teaching and learning platform of RWTH Aachen University. Its virtual course rooms offer a wide range of functions for implementing digital teaching formats as well as providing various information.
How do I get into my course rooms?
Students are automatically booked into the course room of a course as soon as a so-called “confirmed place” has been assigned for this course in RWTHonline. Other statuses such as “registered” are unfortunately not sufficient for this. Accordingly, we would ask you to check whether a confirmed place is already available for the course. Please note that it can always take up to one day after a confirmed place has been assigned until you are booked into the course room.
If you have not received a confirmed place, you have to ask the chair offering the course why this has not happened or when the confirmed places will be assigned. Unfortunately, we cannot influence this. If a confirmed place has already been assigned and this assignment has already existed for more than one day, please contact us again with the number of the course and a screenshot of the confirmed place. If there are problems with the confirmed place assignment, lecturers can always book students manually in individual cases independently of RWTHonline.
