The year is coming to an end, and we would like to look back with you on our blog series The IT Center Picture Puzzle. Which departments were involved this year and what were the solution words? We would also like to give you a sneak preview of what will happen next year, because #SpoilerAlert: we will continue the series next year. But let’s start at the beginning…
The Goal of the Blog Series
In March, we launched our first puzzle with the aim of introducing the IT Center as the central institution of RWTH Aachen University. In this way, we not only wanted to test your knowledge, but also raise awareness of the various departments, management offices and people behind the IT Center and provide promising insights into the people who work there. Who is behind the departments and what does the day-to-day business look like? What current and future projects and developments are in the pipeline? In the interviews, you can find out the hottest news about the IT Center.
What Did the Puzzle Look Like?
Each puzzle had four pictures for a word representing a department of the IT Center. The picture puzzles were posted on our Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter social media channels. The solution word we were looking for was then posted here on our IT Center blog. Along with the solution word, a detailed interview was also published, introducing the department, its employees and the tasks located within it.
Review – Who Has Participated So Far?
You can read all the interviews on our blog. The IT Center picture puzzle kicked off with the Finance, Human Resources & Organizational Support department, which also underwent a department name change earlier this year.
- Finance, Human Resources & Organizational Support Department (FPO)
In this first puzzle, we were looking for the word “Verwaltung.” - Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) Department
Which of you all came up with the solution word “Lehre“? - High Performance Computing (HPC) Office
“Koordination” describes the HPC office and was the solution word we were looking for. - Service & Communication Department (SeKo)
“Kommunikation” essentially characterizes the SeKo department. - Systems and Operation Department (SuB)
The SuB department acts as a “Zahnrad” and was thus given the keyword we were looking for. - Department of Process Management and Digitalization Learning & Teaching (PDSL)
The word we were looking for, “Digitalisierung,” represents the PDSL department, and that concluded our series for this year.
Preview – Who Will Be In Next Year?
The guesswork continues and there are probably six interviews still to come in the new year that you can look forward to. We are excited to see what other interesting puzzles, exchanges and interviews await us. In addition, we hope that we have been able to expand our knowledge of the various departments, management offices and, above all, people behind the IT Centre through the picture puzzle and are in joyful expectation of the new year.
A Big Thank You to All Participants
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all participants in this year’s IT Center Picture Puzzle for the exciting and interesting interviews, insights and for their cooperation!
