We open the last Advent door and share some insights into this year’s Christmas party.

On December 13, 2024, it was that time again: the annual Christmas party took place and brought together the IT Center staff, alumni and family members to end the year together. With a festive atmosphere, good food and exciting activities, it was an all-round successful afternoon and evening!

A Festive Start

The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Professor Müller, who welcomed the guests with a short speech. He introduced the festive afternoon with charming words and a look at the successes of the past year. His words set the perfect mood for a relaxed and convivial evening.

A Touch of Christmas Magic

Inside the Kop6 building, a cozy setting awaited with delicious food, hot drinks in front of the entrance and plenty of room for conversation and celebration. Whether in small groups or in exchange with new acquaintances – the atmosphere was exuberant and warm.

Creative Highlights and Old Treasures

A special highlight of the evening was the “Best Christmas Sweater Contest”. Numerous creative and humorous designs not only brought Christmas cheer, but also caused some laughter and applause at the award ceremony.

For the first time this year, there was also a scrap metal competition. The curious mix of funny, nostalgic and sometimes surprisingly useful gifts made for exciting moments when the presents were handed over.

For a Good Purpose

In addition to celebrating, the focus was also on helping. The fundraising campaign for Café Zuflucht in Aachen was a complete success. A total of € 142 was raised. Thanks to the generous contributions, we were able to do something good together and spread the Christmas spirit.

A big thank you goes to the party team who organized the party, looked after the stalls and helped to make the evening so unforgettable. We would also like to thank the IT Center leadership, who make these great parties possible in the first place.

Looking Forward to Next Year

After this successful party, we can already look forward to the next Christmas party. Until then, we will remember a wonderful evening together – full of laughter, good conversation and genuine Christmas cheer.
