Arlinda Ujkani has been working at the IT Center in the Service and Communication department since April 1. She supports the Marketing and Event Management group there with her knowledge of the field and is responsible in particular for the marketing of research data management. Her job interview was already conducted digitally and she was aware from the beginning that she would be trained digitally. In the interview Arlinda tells us in the interview what she experienced during her induction and how she got to know colleagues digitally.

Since last March, job interviews at the IT Center have been conducted digitally. Tanja Wittpoth-Richter has been group leader of the Marketing and Event Management group at the IT Center since August 2018. As an experienced manager, digital job interviews also mean a change for her, This is not always easy. Digital as the new normal: The current situation also poses new challenges for application processes. Job interviews at the IT Center have been taking place online since last year. Michelle Kadansky, HR Manager at the IT Center, told us in an interview the process of digital job interviews and how they differ from face-to-face interviews.
RWTHmoodle User Survey 2021

This year’s RWTHmoodle user survey has already started on 07.07.2021. As in previous years, we are asking users who have been authorized and actively used at least one course room during the summer semester to participate. Your experiences with the system and your feedback are especially important to further improve RWTHmoodle and to adapt the support offer accordingly.
User Satisfaction Survey 2020 – The Results are online!

In October and November 2020, we conducted our annual user satisfaction survey, in which all customers were able to rate the IT Center’s services and support. New employees in home office
The IT Center is a central IT facility of RWTH Aachen University that supports the university’s core processes and provides IT services. Regardless of whether a service is provided specifically for a single customer or in the same way for many customers, corresponding processes must be developed or analysed and optimised. The customers and users of the (IT-)services provided by the IT Center include not only students, employees and institutions of RWTH Aachen University, but also other universities and external research institutions and companies. Digitization, cloud, high-performance computing, 5G and the associated IT infrastructure – the developments in the IT industry are unstoppable. At the beginning of the year, we announced that the RWTHjupyter service had entered the pilot phase. The goal is to ensure a stable process in the subsequent regular operation by building up experience, taking over operations and setting up support structures.
But have you ever wondered who are the people behind RWTHjupyter that have made it this far?
Today we introduce you to one of the developers: Steffen Vogel works as a research associate at the Institute for Automation of Complex Power Systems (ACS) and has been there from the beginning. We were allowed to interview him about the development of RWTHjupyter.
