Seitz: Praxissemester bei HEAD acoustics

HEAD acoustics GmbH, based in Herzogenrath near Aachen, is one of the leading companies in integrated acoustic solutions as well as sound and vibration analysis. The internship was carried out in the research department Sound Perception and Assessment and focused on the area of physiological measurements for the detection of stress reactions. It involved the development of signal processing techniques for handling Electrocardiogram (ECG), Electro Dermal Activity (EDA), Encephalogram (EEG) and respiratory signals. Furthermore, a listening experiment was planned and conducted in order to apply the techniques developed. The experiment was implemented in the listening test environment SQala and examined the change of physiological parameters during stressful and relaxing situations.
