Wenzel: Internship with Drägerwerk

Drägerwerk, short Dräger, is a leading company in the fields of both medical and safety technology. Based in Lübeck, the company has employees and customers around the globe and is well-known for lifesaving equipment like ventilators, anaesthesia machines and respiratory protection.
The internship took place in the Research and Development department within the business unit Hospital Consumables and Accessoires. The main task was the development of a wireless device capable of fulfilling the tasks of an existing, wire-bound product. This included conceptualization of both hardware and software, as well as building a simple prototype with a microcontroller and sensors.
