We are happy to share that our article “Vehicle pass-by measurements in simplified roadside wall configurations” by Chalotorn Möhlmann, Lukas Aspöck, and Janina Fels has been published open access in npj Acoustics (https://doi.org/10.1038/s44384-026-00077-2)!
- Vehicle pass-by measurement setup on the ISO 10844-compliant asphalt surface (Fig. 7a from paper)
- Time-varying acoustic metrics for the two-wall configuration (Fig. 3 from the paper)
We measured vehicle pass-bys at urban speeds with one or two roadside walls to investigate how shielding, reflection, and diffraction affect the sound at different receiver positions. The recordings are also openly available on Zenodo for use in validating traffic-noise auralizations and urban sound-propagation models: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21469910
