Next week, on January 11, 2023, starting at 10am, the first open meeting of the RDM network in the new year will take place on the topic of DataLad and the GIN-Tonic tool online via Zoom. On November 15, 2022 the Research Data Day in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) will be held for the second time. This time, the motto of the event is “Lighthouse RDM: Orientation in the data sea“.
On this day, events on research data management (RDM) will be held throughout NRW and various universities will present their RDM offerings. The complete programme can be found on the website of the State Initiative for Research Data Management – fdm.nrw.

The breakout of the corona pandemic has presented us with new challenges not only in our private and professional lives, but also in the organisation and the conduct of teaching and research. There was a considerable, albeit unplanned surge in digitalisation. The RDM Team at RWTH Aachen University also had to adapt and make adjustments, especially with regard to events and workshops. Meanwhile, two years have passed and it is time to take stock. Was the changeover successful?
New RDM Training Concept at RWTH Aachen University

In April 2022, the RDM team will start a new training format on research data management “FDM II-modular”, offering you two-hour hands-on workshops on focus topics of research data management. The workshops will take place regularly on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 10am to 12 noon.

Die Getränke sind kaltgestellt und das Jahr 2021 neigt sich dem Ende zu – allerhöchste Zeit für den Jahresrückblick und die diesjährigen Höhepunkte im Bereich des Forschungsdatenmanagements.
2021 hat erneut gezeigt, dass das FDM von Jahr zu Jahr mehr Fahrt aufnimmt und sich dabei auch nicht von einer anhaltenden Pandemie bremsen lässt. Ganz im Gegenteil: Das digitale FDM-Angebot hat dadurch einen Aufschwung erlebt.

Endlich ist es soweit: Nach dem deutschsprachigen Angebot Überblick zum Management von Forschungsdaten (FDM I – online) hat das Team Forschungsdatenmanagement (FDM) nun auch einen englischsprachigen RWTHmoodle-Lernraum eingerichtet. Den Kurs Research Data Management – an Overview (RDM I – online) kann man ganz einfach über die Veranstaltungsdatenbank buchen und sich dann in nur 90-120 Minuten einen kompakten Überblick über das Forschungsdatenmanagement verschaffen.
