After the new MATSE trainees spent the first day of their dual training with their training employers, all 110 new trainees were welcomed by the MATSE training group on Sept. 2, 2021.
This practical training to become mathematical-technical software developers – MATSE for short, connected with the study program Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the FH Aachen – started with our ErstiEvent at the IT Center.
The welcome event took place in three locations, so everyone was able to keep up with the Corona requirements. Additionally, the MATSE2021 were equipped with everything necessary for a good start and a lecture “Programming in Java” was on top. The start of the training ended with the MATSE rally organized by MatheDual e.V..
Of course, the division into three locations requires enough helpers and thorough preparation.
The coordination of the speakers, helpers and the available equipment in the respective rooms was mastered very well.
No hurdle was too big for us to make this event happen on-site, live, and at a distance.
These preparations paid off in the end with a wonderfully successful ErstiEvent.
The conditions could not have been better: Bright sunshine and beaming faces. The trainees got to know the premises and were able to establish a good first connection to RWTH Aachen University, the IT Center and the other prospective developers.
Happy newcomers now start full of enthusiasm, anticipation and curiosity into an exciting time. We wish them every success in their studies and training!
For the organization, thanks go to the MATSE training administration and the Marie group (marketing and event management)!
