Today, we would like to take the opportunity of “System Admin Appreciation Day” to say a big thank you to all system administrators! You are just irreplaceable!

On the last Friday in July, we celebrate the hardworking hands that work in the background and keep our IT services running. Without them, RWTH Aachen University would not be what it is today. From computers to websites, email addresses, printers, data backups, networks and internet connections – our SysAdmins are always on hand to make sure everything runs perfectly.

System Admin Appreciation Day was started over 20 years ago by Ted Kekatos after he saw an ad in which a system admin was thanked for his work with flowers and fruit baskets. Since then, we use this day to express our appreciation. You deserve to be in the spotlight!

We would like to invite you to join us in celebrating this day. Let’s show our SysAdmins how much we appreciate their hard work.

Dear SysAdmins, our technological world just wouldn’t be the same without you!

On that note, Happy System Admin Appreciation Day! Thank you for being there and always supporting us!
