In my internship, I investigated the intelligibility of speech in noise for hearing aid wearers. As communication takes place on a daily basis, good understanding of conversation partners, especially in a noisy environment, is crucial for everyday social life. During the internship with the R&D Sound and Audiology department at WS Audiology in Erlangen, I conducted two studies to test an algorithm. The first study was with normal hearing subjects and in the second study hearing-impaired subjects participated. I designed, prepared and conducted the studies as well as analysed the results and made improvements for further testing.
