The scattering coefficient is a crucial parameter in acoustics, as it plays a significant role in characterizing the scattering of sound waves from surfaces and materials. In this study, we focus on the free-field simulation of the scattering coefficient. First, we validate the scattering coefficient against analytical solutions of standard surfaces, such as sine and rectangular shaped surfaces. Afterwards, different approaches are investigated to minimize the edge effect.
