There is a shift going on from manned aviation to unmanned aviation where drones, mainly DJIs are being used for social public purposes. The drones are easily distinguishable from other sound sources due to their specific sound characteristics, which will change the soundscape of the city. In order to understand how drones will affect society and find out if there is a problem and how the problem could be addressed, an overview of related topics to drone noise will be presented. Topics such as the sound source, sound propagation and its models, and the sound perception will be lightly touched upon.
