What does your future sound like?
At the Institute for Hearing Technology and Acoustics (IHTA) at RWTH Aachen University, we study sound from its physical foundations to its perception by the human auditory system. Our new overview poster provides a compact insight into the acoustics specialization within Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
Study Acoustics
The Bachelor’s program introduces the fundamentals of sound waves, spatial hearing, room acoustics, and psychoacoustics. In the Master’s program, students can specialize in areas such as Technical Acoustics, Hearing Technology, Audiology and Voice, Psychoacoustics and Methods for Listening Experiments, Acoustic Virtual Reality, Electroacoustics, and an Intensive Course on Room Acoustics.
Hands-on Experience
Labs, seminars, and project work enable students to apply theory to practical problems, including virtual acoustic scenes, measurements, and listening experiments.
Your Future
Graduates can pursue careers in a wide range of fields, such as immersive audio (VR/AR), product sound design, environmental acoustics, or research and development.
