New RDM Training Concept at RWTH Aachen University

In April 2022, the RDM team will start a new training format on research data management “FDM II-modular”, offering you two-hour hands-on workshops on focus topics of research data management. The workshops will take place regularly on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 10am to 12 noon.

New DFG Templates for Funding Proposals

At the German Research Foundation (DFG), the topic of research data management (FDM) is becoming increasingly important. When preparing a proposal, you should therefore consider FDM at an early stage. This does not have to be a lot of work. NFDI Basic Services: Schedule and Reactions

On our blog, we have already reported on the decoupling of NFDI Basic Services from the third round of calls for proposals. In the blog post NFDI-Basisdienste – Ein Überblick über die Entstehung und den weiteren Verlauf der Querschnittskonsortien (NFDI Basis Services – An overview of the emergence and further development of the cross-sectional consortia), the beginnings of the Basic Services were highlighted, the statement of the DFG was summarized, and a small outlook into the near future was given.

Contrary to what was assumed at the time, the German Research Foundation (DFG) has already published the schedule for the decision-making process for basic services funding in December 2021 and this has already caused some reactions from the scientific community. In this blog post we would like to inform you about it.

NFDI in the DFG Funding Atlas

In this article, we would like to inform you about the recently published Funding Atlas of the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the key figures on publicly funded research in Germany. Published only every three years, this report is considered and serves as a “long-term observation of the German research landscape.” In this latest edition, the most recent decisions in the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) program also receive accentuated consideration, and with it the role of RWTH Aachen University.

NFDI-Basisdienste – Ein Überblick über die Entstehung und den weiteren Verlauf der Querschnittskonsortien

Vor einigen Wochen haben wir im Beitrag NFDI-Konferenz 2021 über die Besonderheiten der dritten Ausschreibungsrunde berichtet. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt hatten NFDI-Basisdienste erstmals die Möglichkeit erhalten, einen Antrag zur DFG-Förderung einzureichen. Am 21.07.2021 gab die DFG jedoch bekannt, dass die Antragstellung der NFDI-Basisdienste von der Antragstellung der Fachkonsortien entkoppelt wird. In diesem Beitrag werden wir nun den Überblick über die Entstehung der Basisdienste sowie über die Aktualisierung der Fördermöglichkeiten dieser berichten.

So schnell kann’s gehen: Letzte Woche erst haben wir über unseren erfolgreichen RWTH4NFDI-Workshop berichtet. Dort stellten die verschiedensten Konsortien sich, ihre Arbeit, Ziele und Visionen vor – und nun erreichte uns die erfreuliche Nachricht, dass vom Expertengremium der Deutschen Förderungsgesellschaft (DFG) eine Förderempfehlung für einige dieser Konsortien ausgesprochen wurde! NFDI – DFG veröffentlicht Statistiken zur Förderentscheidung der ersten Ausschreibungsrunde

Am 26. Juni 2020 wurde die Förderentscheidung der ersten Ausschreibungsrunde zur Förderung von Konsortien in der Nationalen Forschungsdateninfrastruktur (NFDI) durch die Gemeinsame Wissenschaftskonferenz (GWK) getroffen und die Förderung von neun NFDI-Konsortien beschlossen. Die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) hat im Nachgang eine statistische Übersicht zu der Förderentscheidung veröffentlicht.

NFDI – Start der zweiten Ausschreibungsrunde

Logo der DFGVergangene Woche hat die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) den teilnehmenden Initiativen der ersten Ausschreibungsrunde individuell mitgeteilt, ob sie eine Förderung im Rahmen des Aufbaus einer Nationalen Forschungsdateninfrastruktur (NFDI) empfiehlt. Die endgültige Entscheidung über eine mögliche Förderung trifft die Gemeinsame Wissenschaftskonferenz (GWK) am 26. Juni.

Zu Beginn der Woche ist bereits die zweite Ausschreibungsrunde gestartet.

Re3data durchläuft Metamorphose

Seit 2012 bietet re3data.org – Registry of Research Data Repositories eine Übersicht über bestehende Forschungsdatenrepositorien. Forschende, Förderungseinrichtungen, Verlage und wissenschaftliche Institutionen haben die Möglichkeit ein disziplinspezifisches und/ oder institutionelles Repositorium aus den über 2460 Repositorien für die Veröffentlichung  von Forschungsdaten zu wählen.

Unter dem Namen „re3data – Community Driven Open Reference for Research Data Repositories (COREF)“ startete im Januar nun ein Projekt, dass die Dienste von re3data professionalisiert.
