With the go live of IT Center Help in 2020 we said goodbye to our documentation portal “doc.itc.rwth-aachen.de”. Here we provided information, instructions and also changes of the IT Center Services for you for almost six years.

But things changed, and that’s the way it is…

Now we present you our new blog instance, where you will find changes of some of our services in the future.

These changes can include the following:

  • – Information and changes to a service
  • – Release notes
  • – Information about software updates
  • – Information about version updates

All entries are recorded chronologically for you, so that you can easily follow the development.

The release notes listed there are information that contain a verbose description of the release of a new version of a service. They usually contain detailed information about the changes made and their effects or even bugs fixed.

If you find short and concise entries, then it is usually a change log. This provides you with brief information about changes to a service.

To be informed ad hoc about entries, you can subscribe to interesting categories as RSS feed on the IT Center Changes, as in the previous portal.

You want to know what an entry on IT Center Changes looks like?

Feel free to klick around the new blog.

But one thing does not change…

…and that’s our status reporting portal.

Are you looking for maintenance or disruptions of certain services?

Then the status report portal is still your place to go.

There we will provide you with information about upcoming maintenance and currently occurring malfunctions or security advices in the central IT systems of RWTH Aachen University.

If you have any questions about the IT Center Changes, our colleagues at the IT-ServiceDesk will be happy to help you as usual.
