Selfservice – The New Design
Since 7th October 2021, Selfservice shines in a new modern look. Usability was also considered and optimized during the redesign.

Hip hip hurray! The time has come: RWTHjupyter will become an official service of the IT Center starting with the winter semester 2021/2022!

Restricted opening hours of IT-ServiceDesk on October 1st 2021

Due to an internal event, the opening hours of the IT-ServiceDesk will be restricted on Friday, October 1st 2021.
How you can reach us on this day:
- By phone from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm: You can reach us easily and reliably by phone via the number +49 241/80-24680.
- By e-mail: You can also contact us by e-mail at servicedesk@itc.rwth-aachen.de.
- Chat support is closed on this day.
On this day, longer waiting and processing times must be expected, as not all employees are available due to the in-house event.
We therefore ask for a little patience on the phone.
Thank you for your understanding. From Monday, October 4th 2021, we will be available again in full staff at our usual opening hours.

On August 23, 2021, eight computing centers of universities or university alliances came together and founded the Association for National High Performance Computing – NHR-Verein e. V..
The association ensures coordination among each other and the supra-regional, sustainable and resource-efficient use of computing capacity and expertise. The foundation of the association focuses on the achievement of essential goals in National High Performance Computing (NHR).
Would You Like a Little Touch Up? – RWTHmoodle is Now in the Version 3.11

Like every year, we gave RWTHmoodle a little touch up this summer: On August 25, the teaching and learning platform was updated to version 3.11.
This update comes with some visual and functional innovations for the users.
The GitLab Project LifeCycle goes into the second round

GitLab is used at RWTH Aachen University with pleasure and actively. However, after projects have been processed, a lot of data often accumulates that is no longer used. To prevent a mountain of data waste from piling up in GitLab, a Project LifeCycle for RWTH was designed and introduced at the IT Center. In March 2021, it went live.
In the first few weeks, we received a number of suggestions and requests for adjustments to the process from users. So that these could be examined in detail by the responsible department, the GitLab Project LifeCycle was paused for the time being.
The review and revision phase has now been completed. In this article, we present the adjustments made with the help of the feedback.

The IT Center, as the central IT service provider of RWTH Aachen University, offers a number of continuing education and information events. Unfortunately, since last year, due to COVID-19, barely any events can take place or have been replaced by an online format. We used the time gained by this to build a brand new, clearly arranged website for you, which informs you at a glance about all events around the IT Center.

With more than 3,500 attendees and exhibiting companies, this year’s ISC 2021 Digital is the largest virtual community gathering for High Performance Computing (HPC), Machine Learning (ML) and High Performance Data Analytics (HPDA).
