Let your research bloom! On the second Tuesday in November, the fourth “Research Data Day” will take place in North Rhine-Westphalia – a state-wide day of action on research data management. On November 12, 2024, everything will revolve around a blooming “data garden” in which Forschungszentrum Jülich and RWTH Aachen University invite all researchers and those interested in RDM to Jülich for networking!
A Blooming Day for Your Research
Be part of this year’s Research Data Day in Jülich! Like last year, the RDM teams from RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) have joined forces to put together a varied and interactive afternoon program.
The motto of the ABCD-J region (Aachen-Bonn-Cologne-Düsseldorf and Jülich) for 2024 is “Successful research networks: growing together with data”. The focus of this motto is on the services offered by scientific networks in the area of research data management (RDM) and data science. They present their tools or services with a focus on dialog and small hands-on sessions, as will be done, for example, by DKZ.2R. Participants can get to know two of the following offers in more detail:
- KCD: Weathering the Storm: Managing Research Data in the Cloud
- 2R: Reducing Data-Related Hurdles in Research
- HDS-LEE: Data Intensive Workflows in Science
- HMC: Organizing Your Software Metadata with Somesy and FAIR Python Cookiecutter
In addition to the RDM presentations by the scientific networks, there will be sufficient time and space for questions or general exchange on research data.
Your Roadmap For the Data Garden
In the morning, we will follow the cross-location program of fdm.nrw together. A keynote lecture by Prof. Dr. Björn Usadel (FAIRgro and Dataplant) as well as three lightning talks on RDM from research practice, including one by Prof. Sandra Geisler on RDM workflows in the Internet of Production excellence cluster, await you. The morning program will be held in German.
We will spend our lunch break together in the FZJ Seecasino and use the time to exchange ideas with colleagues and discuss the topics of the morning. The afternoon program “Successful Research Networks: Growing Together with Data” offers various topic tables of the local networks, as well as a concluding poster session and a get-together. The afternoon program will be held in English.
