SocialHub PopUp Event in Munich

To manage social media channels efficiently, the IT Center’s marketing team relies on the SocialHub management tool. This allows us to maintain an overview and optimize our online presence. Twice a year, SocialHub invites its customers to its pop-up event.

Not only are new features for the social media management tool presented here, but exciting insights into other companies are also given and interesting guest lectures are held.

In our last post, we introduced you to Ritchy, the IT-ServiceDesk’s AI-powered support chatbot. If you’re not yet familiar with Ritchy, we recommend reading the first post first. There you can learn more about the background and development of the chatbot.

When you select the support chat function on our IT Center website, in IT Center Help, or directly in RWTHmoodle, you can now choose whether you want to chat with Ritchy or with the IT-ServiceDesk staff. But if you’ve been wondering how Ritchy works in detail, we have the answer for you in this post.

On October 20, 2025, our IT Center Satisfaction Survey 2025 started. This survey is aimed at all people who use the services of the IT Center. In order to continuously improve the quality of services and support through our various communication channels, we conduct a satisfaction survey every year. The survey is anonymous.

Are you familiar with the Status Message Portal?

The website maintenance.rz.rwth-aachen.de provides you with messages about current maintenance, (partial) malfunctions, and outages of all central IT systems of the IT Center. The details specify what is going on, since when, and – if known – when it is expected to be resolved.

Since October 15, 2025, it has a new look and improved features.

On September 26, 2025, it was once again time to say “O’zapft is!” – the IT Center invited guests to its traditional Oktoberfest. Daniel Bündgens, Chief Executive Director of the IT Center, opened the festivities with a warm welcome and got the numerous guests in the mood for a lively evening full of Bavarian atmosphere.

KI:connect.nrw – On the Path to 350,000 Users

In our first post, we introduced the launch of the KI:connect​.nrw project. The aim of the project is to provide universities in NRW with a privacy-compliant and customizable way of using generative AI via the central webinterface of KI:connect. In the meantime, there has been significant progress: The following five universities are now successfully connected and are actively using KI:connect:

  • FernUniversität in Hagen
  • Fachhochschule Aachen
  • Hochschule Ruhr West
  • RWTH Aachen University
  • Technische Hochschule Köln

This means that KI:connect is now available to more than 170,000 students and staff in the fields of study, teaching, and research.
