Once again this year, the IT Center, as the data center of a traditional Rhineland university, is getting carried away by the carnival hustle and bustle of our so called fifth season. The carnival season is just around the corner, and with it come some adjustments to the IT Center opening hours. Here you can find an overview of our opening hours during carnival.

On Fat Thursday, also known as Weiberfastnacht, February 8, 2023, the IT-ServiceDesk at our offices in the SuperC and in the Seffenter Weg 23 office building will be closed.

Please note that the following services will therefore not be available on this day:

Furthermore, the IT-ServiceDesk is only available during limited opening hours from 7:30 am to 4 pm using the following contact methods:

  • By telephone: on +49 241 80 24680,
  • By e-mail: to servicedesk@itc.rwth-aachen.de,
  • By chat: via the “Chat Support” button, which you can find at the bottom right of the IT Center website, in the documentation platform IT Center Help, or in RWTHmoodle.
  • And via our ticket-portal.

On Friday, February 9, 2024, the IT-ServiceDesk will be open again at the usual opening hours.

For instructions on how to use and install our services, we recommend visiting our documentation platform IT Center Help.

InfoPoint and General Accessibility

On Fat Thursday, February 8, 2024, the infoPoint in the Seffenter Weg 23 office building will be staffed until 12 noon. From this time onwards, all office buildings will be closed for public business.

Please note that all office buildings will also be completely closed on Rosenmontag, February 12, 2024.

If you need to enter an IT Center office building for an appointment outside the above-mentioned opening hours, please get in touch with your local contact person in good time.

From Tuesday, February 13, 2024, the IT-ServiceDesk and the office buildings will be available again during regular opening hours.

We would like to thank you for your understanding and wish you a happy and colorful carnival season!
