Welcome, New MATSE Trainees!

This year, we are delighted to welcome an impressive number of 103 new MATSE trainees who are starting their dual studies in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at FH Aachen. These young talents, who are being trained as mathematical-technical software developers, were warmly welcomed to the IT Center on September 3.

Review of the SWT Fair 2024

On February 16, 2024, the IT Center opened its doors again for the Software Technology Fair, which is the highlight of the Software Technology module for the dual students of the Applied Mathematics and Computer Science degree program. The prospective mathematical-technical software developers (MATSE) had the opportunity to proudly present their practical projects.

Best Trainee Award 2023

Despite the extraordinary circumstances during the coronavirus pandemic, the training was completed with the grade “very good” – four former IT Center trainees achieved this in 2023: Patrick Blaneck, who completed his training as a mathematical-technical software developer at the beginning of the year, Mia Möbes, IT specialist for system integration, Eva Tiede, Management Assistant for Office Management, and Marcel Vogler, mathematical-technical software developer. All four were honored by the IHK-Aachen for their excellent results at a ceremony.

Be Future: Fair for Young People

In the past few days, the “Be Future” fair was once again held at the St. Ursula Gymnasium in Geilenkirchen. This fair offers a comprehensive insight into the wide range of career opportunities – be it university studies, dual course of studies or apprenticeships.
Since the first Be Future in 2006, more and more students have been visiting this fair and this time there were more exhibitors than ever before. Nearly 90 exhibitors were on hand to provide information to around 2,000 young people about what options are available after school and what to expext in a univeristy or apprenticeship.

Welcome, New MATSE Trainees!

This year, we are pleased with the even three-figure MATSE growth! 103 prospective number crunchers have started their dual studies with integrated training as mathematical-technical software developers – MATSE for short.

The newcomers were welcomed at the MATSE beginners’ event on September 4 at the IT Center. The 6th of September also held exciting events in store for our first-year students.

The IT Center Greets Its New Trainees

This year, we are once again very pleased to welcome our new trainees.

As a training company of RWTH Aachen University, we give enthusiastic young talents the opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic and future-oriented environment. This year, we are very pleased to welcome a total of 11 new trainees at the IT Center, who now look forward to their exciting apprenticeships as IT specialists for system integration (FiSi), management assistants for office management (KfB), management assistants for dialog marketing (DiMa), and mathematical-technical software developers (MATSE). MATSE Trainee Wins 2nd Place at GermEval Contest

Trainees bring a breath of fresh air to companies and often surprise with remarkable achievements. A notable example is Patrick Gustav Blaneck, a former MATSE trainee at the IT Center, who won the second place at the GermEval 2022 contest.

We as an employer think that it’s important to recognize and highlight the achievements of our employees. For that reason, we spoke with Patrick about his work, the experience he gained along the way, and his plans for the future.

This Was the Software Technology Fair 2023 in Aachen

Finally the software technology fair could take place again in presence in the rooms of the IT Center. The prospective mathematical-technical software developers (MATSE) of the dual course of studies “Applied Mathematics and Computer Science” of the University of Applied Sciences Aachen presented their project work in the SWT fair on the premises of the IT Center of the RWTH Aachen University on February 22, 2023. In the 3rd semester of the course, the fair and the presentation of the projects form the conclusion of the software engineering module for the dual trainees.
