Training Finished – What Now? Part 2

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been providing you with information about the training program for management assistants in dialogue marketing. With this article, we have now reached the end of the blog series on the DiMa training program. We have presented the profession in the form of a profile, explained the application process, and one of our current trainees has described the training and the path to it from his perspective. In the previous article, you could read reports on the experiences of internal former trainees.

We have almost reached the end of our blog series on the vocational training to become a management assistant in dialogue marketing. My name is Yasin Kalem and I am currently in the second year of my vocational training as a management assistant in dialogue marketing, or DiMa for short. When I first found out about the training program, I was very interested, but I didn’t know what to expect. I was worried that the training wouldn’t excite me and expected a strict routine. But my concerns were unfounded. The First Step to Training: Applying Properly

Doing a vocational training at a university? How can that be done? Quite simply! Even though a university is often associated with a study program, you still have the opportunity to complete vocational trainings at the various central offices, institutes and chairs. And this is also the case here at the IT Center.

In this next article of our blog series on the vocational training program for management assistants in dialogue marketing – DiMa for short – we will introduce you to the application process. We Are Training and Looking for YOU – Management Assistants for Dialogue Marketing

With this blog post, we are starting our series of articles on the subject of Vocational Training – Management Assistants for Dialogue Marketing. This is an apprenticeship that you can complete exclusively at our IT Center at RWTH Aachen University. One exception is the Uniklinik RWTH Aachen, which, however, follows a separate process.

Today we start with a profile of this vocational training. In our upcoming posts, you will get detailed information on the application process and insights into the daily life of an apprentice from one of our current apprentices. In the final part of the blog series, which we will split into two articles, we will present you the impressions of former apprentices in their position as permanent employees.*

This Was the Software Technology Fair 2023 in Aachen

Finally the software technology fair could take place again in presence in the rooms of the IT Center. The prospective mathematical-technical software developers (MATSE) of the dual course of studies “Applied Mathematics and Computer Science” of the University of Applied Sciences Aachen presented their project work in the SWT fair on the premises of the IT Center of the RWTH Aachen University on February 22, 2023. In the 3rd semester of the course, the fair and the presentation of the projects form the conclusion of the software engineering module for the dual trainees. Which projects were presented this year and what the MATSE trainees learned, you can read in this after report.

New Work – Working from home as a new form of work

Until the beginning of 2020 the normal day-to-day work basically looked normal for almost everyone:
Getting to work in the morning, spending the day in the office with the team, holding meetings, having a quick chat with each other at the coffee machine, and in the evening heading back home again.

Suddenly, this routine was interrupted. The pandemic changed the way we worked as we knew it, and new or rather less common forms took root, such as working from home.

As of March 2020, working from home was the new norm for many workers. This confronted us all with new and major challenges that we had to adapt to in a timely manner.

I was able to go on an educational trip to the Advanced Training Academy of the Ministry of the Interior of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (FAH) in Herne recently as part of our internal advanced training concept. What my time was like during the two-day training on the topic of personnel marketing and employer branding, how important the topic is in times of labour shortage and what other exciting content I took away with me, I have recorded for you in this blog post.

As a provider of education and training in the StädteRegion Aachen, the IT Center offers education and training positions for various professions. The trainees for dialogue marketing are primarily trained in the department “Service & Communication” and support the IT-ServiceDesk in 1st-level support by telephone, in person and in writing. Support is one of the main tasks of the trainees. In addition, however, you will also be given special tasks, write technical reports and work on projects. The administrative part of the training is facilitated and ensured by in the Finance, Human Resources & Organizational Support department. The trainees are deployed there for nine weeks.
