Welcome Isabella Boux!
In August Isabella Boux joined the group Biological Psychology and Social Psychology (Prof. Dr. Anna Kuhlen). She’s taken on the role of a postdoctoral researcher, focusing on research activities and contributing to teaching Psychology courses for the Bachelor program starting from the winter semester of 2023/24. Isabella is in the final stages of completing her doctoral degree at the Free University Berlin. Her research has centered around the neural aspects of language as a mean of communication. Specifically, she’s been looking into brain activity patterns during speech production in social-interactive tasks and during comprehension of the communicative action carried out by direct and indirect uses of language. Her general research interest revolve around the topic of language use in social-communicative contexts and she has expertise in the conduction of EEG, TMS and behavioural experiments.

Lousberglauf
Das Team „IfP – PsyDiagnostics Runners“, Laura Christina Suthe und Klemens Weigl, vom Lehrstuhl für Psychologische Diagnostik und Intervention haben beim diesjährigen Lousberglauf erfolgreich teilgenommen. Laura belegte bei den Damen den 154. Platz (von 416) in einer Zeit von 30:22 und Klemens belegte bei den Herren den 111. Rang (von 1237) in einer Zeit von 22:25.
Kongress der European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP)
Vom 24. bis 27. Mai 2023 fand in Kattowitz (Polen) der 21. Kongress der European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP) unter Beteiligung von Prof. Dr. Bettina S. Wiese und Dr. Anna M. Stertz (Lehrstuhl II) statt.
In dem von Prof. Dr. Bettina S. Wiese mitorganisierten Symposium „Regret in careers: Examining its sources, implications, and responses” trug Dr. Anna M. Stertz mit einen Vortrag zum Thema „Fathers’ daily regrets of being on parental leave: The roles of perceived family-support by the supervisor and the organization“ bei. Zudem hat Dr. Anna M. Stertz einen Vortrag zum Thema „Leaving the organization or quitting the workforce? A longitudinal study on working mothers’ turnover intentions in the early family phase” in dem von ihr organisierten Symposium „Examining the work-nonwork interface from special perspectives” gehalten.
ADok 2023
Matilde Simonetti, Luigi Falanga, and Anton Koger from the Chair of Cognitive and Experimental Psychology had a great experience at the PhD-ADok conference in Greifswald from June 21st to 24th.
The conference had a cozy vibe with fewer than 20 attendees. This created a warm and intimate atmosphere where we could connect with everyone and have meaningful discussions. The conference venue was absolutely unique (see picture below).
The talks by Matilde and Anton were very successful. It was Luigi’s first-ever conference experience, and he engaged in academic and social exchange.
Welcome Luigi Falanga!
In the past weeks, Luigi Falanga joined the Chair I (Cognitive and Experimental Psychology, Prof. Dr. Iring Koch) as a PhD student. Luigi is working on the DFG-funded project “Age-related changes in the mechanisms of auditory attention switch in selective hearing” (led by Dr. Iring Koch in collaboration with Prof. Janina Fels from the Institute for Hearing Technology and Acoustics).
Prior to his arrival here, Luigi completed a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Psychological Sciences, followed by a Master’s degree in Applied Psychobiology and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Parma. During his Master’s, he conducted research on Interpersonal Physiological Mirroring.

More good news: Erik Friedgen recently successfully defended his dissertation “Decomposing multitasking costs: Reconciling generic and modality-specific accounts in task switching”. He was supervised by Dr. Iring Koch and Dr. Denise Stephan (Chair I; Cognitive and Experimental Psychology). Congrats on moving forward with your career—we are all so proud of you!
Summer Get-Together of the Institute
On Friday, June 23, employees and students of the Institute of Psychology got together to grill and celebrate another successful year. Sunny weather, tasty food and good company made a wonderful summer get-together.
Special thanks go to the team that organized the get-together (Denise Stephan, Stefan Winkelmann and Ruth Noppeney) as well as the students (Fachschaft) who provided everyone with refreshments!
Herzlich Willkommen an das neue Team des Lehrstuhls für Psychologische Diagnostik und Intervention!
Der Lehrstuhl für Psychologische Diagnostik und Intervention hat zum 1. März 2023 seinen Betrieb aufgenommen. Besetzt wird der Lehrstuhl durch Univ.-Prof. Dr. Thomas Günther. Wir freuen uns sehr, Herrn Prof. Dr. Günther und sein Team am IfP willkommen zu heißen.
Unterstützt wird Prof. Günther von den wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiterinnen Dr. Josefine Horbach und Frederike Steinke sowie von PD Dr. Klemens Weigl, Lehrkraft für besondere Aufgaben und der studentischen Hilfskraft Laura Suthe. Der Lehrstuhl befindet sich im Aufbau und Wachstum und ist im Technologiezentrum am Europaplatz untergebracht.
Forschungsbereiche des Lehrstuhls sind Modellorientierte Entwicklung und Überprüfung von Diagnostik- und Interventionsverfahren. Von Interesse sind insbesondere Verfahren im Bereich der Aufmerksamkeit, Sprach- und Schriftsprachentwicklung, Verkehrspsychologie und Sportpsychologie. Schwerpunkte sind die Technisierung und Automatisierung von Verfahren. Als Methode werden im Lehrstuhl häufig Blickbewegungsmessungen eingesetzt.
Lehrveranstaltungen werden von dem Lehrstuhl in den folgenden Modulen angeboten: Einführung in die Psychologie, Klinische Psychologie II sowie Psychologische Diagnostik und diagnostische Verfahren im polyvalenten Bachelorstudiengang und Psychologische Diagnostik im Masterstudiengang.
Wir begrüßen Herrn Prof. Günther und sein Team ganz herzlich und freuen uns auf die Zusammenarbeit!
Das LuF Arbeits- und Ingenieurpsychologie beim BMBF-Abschlusstreffen in Hamburg
Am 27. 
und 28. April 2023 fand das BMBF-Abschlusstreffen der Bekanntmachung „Mensch-Technik-Interaktion für digitale Souveränität“ (DISO) in Hamburg statt. Auch das Projekt A-DigiKomp war mit allen Projektpartnern vertreten. Vom LuF Arbeits- und Ingenieurpsychologie waren Annika Kreuder, Jennifer Klütsch und Luise Haehn anwesend. Jennifer Klütsch und Malin Sweers (SGS) stellten das Projekt und den Demonstrator des Serious Games vor. Auch vertrat Jennifer Klütsch A-DigiKomp in der anschließenden Podiumsdiskussion, wo neue Herausforderungen und Fördermöglichkeiten der Zukunft diskutiert und mitgestaltet wurden. Es ergaben sich spannende Einblicke in die zahlreichen Forschungsprojekte der Förderlinie und Diskussionen über zukünftige Forschung und Technik.

Beitrag des IfP zum International Noise Awareness Day
„Mach mal leise“ war das Motto des diesjährigen Tags gegen Lärm (International Noise Awareness Day) am 26. April 2023. Frau Prof. Dr. Sabine Schlittmeier trug mit einem Vortrag zum Thema „Mensch, Schall und Lärm“ zu der zentralen Veranstaltung von Umweltbundesamt (UBA) und der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Akustik e.V. bei. Das online Format der Veranstaltung sollte für möglichst viele interessierte Bürger*innnen, Fachleute aus der Verwaltung und aus Ingenieurbüros sowie Vertreter*innen von Verbänden und Politik die Teilnahme ermöglichen.
