Europe Day 2024: United in Diversity
Europe Day took place on 14 May this year, when the Berufsschule an der Lindenstraße (BKAL) organized a project day for students, teachers and interested parties. Our trainee Yasin Kalem gave several presentations about his time in Malta to show other trainees and interested parties the possibilities of an internship abroad. He already reported on his experiences in Malta in an earlier blog post. To allow others to benefit from his findings, he shared them at the Europe Day.

The carnival season is just around the corner, and with it come some adjustments to the IT Center opening hours. Here you can find an overview of our opening hours during carnival.

Internship Abroad in Malta
Our apprentice, Yasin Kalem, who has already given us an insight into DiMa apprenticeship in the past, was able to complete an internship abroad in Malta as part of the apprenticeship and Erasmus+ program. He spent a total of five weeks on the Maltese islands, where he worked as a “Business Development Manager” at the esports academy “Level Academy Malta”.
He has summarized everything he experienced there for us.
Best Trainee Award 2023
Despite the extraordinary circumstances during the coronavirus pandemic, the training was completed with the grade “very good” – four former IT Center trainees achieved this in 2023: Patrick Blaneck, who completed his training as a mathematical-technical software developer at the beginning of the year, Mia Möbes, IT specialist for system integration, Eva Tiede, Management Assistant for Office Management, and Marcel Vogler, mathematical-technical software developer. All four were honored by the IHK-Aachen for their excellent results at a ceremony.
