IGMR Consensus In Sensor Robot Network

Agile and freely networked assembly systems are characterised by the sensoric-supported cooperation of several mobile and stationary robots. However, the dynamic transformation of the production lines demands especial control strategies for robotic manipulators. Fast and reliable motion planning and control schemes should be developed that appropriately react to the changes in the environment and setpoints, and produce feasible motions. These assembly systems can then be mapped into the structure of a meta-model that leads to the creation of digital shadows of the factories of the future.

IGOR Tper: The Robot with non-spherical wrist

The next generation of our robot is designed. The new robot is called IGOR Tper. This robot has a non-spherical wrist, that makes the motion planning for the robot rather challenging.

IGOR – our in-house robot

We have further developed the concept of the in-house robot IGOR (https://blog.rwth-aachen.de/robotik/igor-konzept-eines-hauseigenen-6-achs-roboters/). Now, different configurations of the robot with a different number of degrees of freedom are available. Each configuration also has a different type of wrist and arm. All models are controllable via Robot Operating System ROS.

Robot-Guided Form Scan and Coating

Automatic shape recognition via laser scanner and trajectory planning for coating.

In this project, shapes are detected and their edges are realized by a laser scanner mounted on the end effector of the robot. The collected data is synchronized and filtered, and a suitable trajectory is created for coating the inner surface of the forms. Several variables, such as nozzle speed, spacing and gaps, nozzle size, and outlier for homogeneous coating can be selected during trajectory planning.

The project was carried out in cooperation with International Partners in Glass Research e.V.

Kooperative mobile Manipulation in Produktionslinien im „Internet of Production“

Anwendungen der mobilen Manipulation in den Arbeitsumgebungen der „Factory of Future“.

Internet of Production (IoP) hat die Vision, die domänenübergreifende Zusammenarbeit in Produktionslinien auf einer neuen Ebene zu ermöglichen. Die Mobilisierung von Roboter-Agenten und Ressourcen sind die Essenzen der Produktionslinien der Fabrik der Zukunft. Um die Roboteragenten in die Lage zu versetzen, auf die Änderung der Produktionslinien zu reagieren, suchen wir im IGMR nach dynamischer Bewegungsplanung und -steuerung der mobilen Manipulatoren.
